Lamellar Ichthyosis

Lamellar Ichthyosis is a rare skin disorder, in which babies shed their outer layer of skin. This is the primary symptom after which the main symptom starts occurring. The skin starts extensive scaling that looks familiar to fish scales, tiling the skin around joint areas like elbow, neck, armpit and groins. In severe cases, tiling of scales can be seen all over body with increasing age. In this disorder, the patient’s body can’t sweat to cool the body temperature resulting in fish like scaling over the skin.
