Jon Brower Minnoch (September 29, 1941 – September 10, 1983) – 635kg
He was the heaviest human being ever recorded and weighted 635 kg/1400 lb at peak. He was suffering from a massive generalized edema which is a disease where the body retains excess extra cellular fluid. The most shocking fact about his weight was that over 400 kg of his weight was due to this retained fluid.
Jon Brower was an American man and at the age of just 12, he weighed 132 kg. As his age increased so does his weigh and by the age of 22 he weighed 178 kg. Apart from making a record of being the heaviest person in the world, he also broke an unusual record when he married 50 kg Jeannette. The record was for the greatest difference I weight between a married couples.
Hospitalization of Jon Brower saw many difficulties as over a dozen firemen and rescue person were needed to transport him on a modified stretcher. Even, in hospital he was placed on two beds pushed together and it took over 13 people just to roll him over for changing linen.He also made another record when he lost 419 kg of weight after a strict diet and it was the largest human weight less ever documented. He weighed 362 kg at the time of death.
Khalid Bin Mohsen Shaari (1991 – Present) – 610 kg
When Saudi Arabia’s King realized that there is man his country who has never left his home since three years then he ordered to make this happen. The reason that man, Khalid Bin Mohsen Sharri, has never left his home is his weight which was close to 610 kg. The king arranged all the facilities for him and he was transported from his home to the medical center. A forklift was used to transport him and his home was demolished so that he can be easily removed.
It was later found in an Interview that he lost more than half of his body weight after undergoing bariatric surgery. However, Shaari can’t walk on his own and needs a custom built wheelchair to move around. He was the only men who weighed more than 600 kg in the list of heaviest people in the world.
Manuel “Meme” Uribe Garza (11 June 1965 – 26 May 2014) – 597 kg
Considered as the rock star of the heaviest people in the world, this man was in a limelight all because of his weight. Manuel Uribe was born in Mexico and suffered from morbid obesity. The problem was that he was suffering from this disease to one of the greatest extents in history. He came into limelight, when he used Mexican TV network for his help. Many people and social societies came forward to help him. He was featured on two TV documentaries, one in 2007, “The World’s Heaviest Man” and another in 2009, “The World’s Heaviest Man Gets Married”. From a peak weight of 597 kg, he lost 230 kg with the help of nutritionists and custom made diet. He weighed 394 kg when he died.
Carol Ann Yager (January 26, 1960 – July 18, 1994) – 544 kg
Carol was and still is the heaviest women in the world with a peak weight of 544 kg. She is also known for loosing most of her weight by natural methods and lost 236 kg weight in three months without any surgery.
In an interview, she said that she starting eating a lot when she was kid and soon this eating disorder turned into a severe disease. She also appeared on the famous “The Jerry Springer Show”.
Walter Hudson (1944–1991) – 543 kg
Apart from being the one of the heaviest people in the world, Walter Hudson also holds the Guinness Record for largest waist at 302 cm. One of the most interesting thing about Walter was his amazing health. Despite being so heavy, his heart, lungs and kidneys were working perfectly. Even his cholesterol and blood-sugar levels were perfect just like a normal man.
His diet consisted of two boxes of sausages, 0.45 kg of bacon, 12 eggs, a loaf of bread, four hamburgers and four double cheeseburgers, eight large portions of fries, three ham steaks/ two chickens, four baked potatoes, four sweet potatoes, four heads of broccoli, most of a large cake, and additional snacks. He weighed 510 kg when he died.
Francis John Lang, aka Michael Walker (1934 – Present) – 538 kg
Michael Walker is a real hero. He just weighed 80 kg when he was a soldier in Korea. But, his weight started growing at a much faster pace due to its uncontrollable appetite which was a result of drugs he was talking. Despite being unable to walk, he somehow got himself a mobile home and he would visit carnivals and fairs. And, in these fairs he would warn people about ill-effects of drugs citing his own example.
Michael Hebranko (May 14, 1953 – July 25, 2013) – 499 kg
Michael Hebranko also suffered from an extreme case of morbid obesity due to which hi peak weight reached close to 500 kg. However, he dropped his weight to amazing 90 kg with the help of dieting and exercise coach. He was also seen in many weight loosing commercials and T.V shows like Wogan and The Howard Stern Show. He died on July 25th, 2013.
